Alexander Wright

Biography

I am a musician from Melbourne, Australia currently studying Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Technically I'm a mixing and mastering engineer, working with artists to authentically communicate their musical vision to an audience. But really, I try to be the difference between a recording that a listener will enjoy and a piece of art they'll cherish for the rest of their life. Being a part of that process means the world to me because I know from experience how much a song can mean to someone with whom it truly connects.

Prior to Berklee, I spent my time as a self-taught producer and engineer of a variety of electronic genres, including hip-hop, house, dubstep, and IDM, primarily working with Logic Pro X and Ableton Live 9, though in 2015 I switched to Pro Tools 12. Those productions appeared on EPs, singles, demo tapes, and in DJ sets. I also have experience with scoring for visual media, having contributed the soundtrack to an episode by the online documentary production company Vive Cool City, a groundbreaking film studio with over 10 million online video views and a successful TV program on Australia's national network SBS2.

As I make the most of the incredible opportunities at Berklee, I am an active member of the AES (Audio Engineering Society), and I offer my services as a mixing and mastering engineer for all styles of music. Using a wide variety of software and hardware equipment, I take pride in the fact that I can always be counted on to give a project my all. I believe that passion can be heard, and my favorite thing to accomplish is making sure that a piece of music lives up to its full potential by really impacting someone on the other side of its creation. I aim to bridge that final gap between what is great and what is extraordinary.
